1. Information we collect
- Account information (name, phone number, email, language).
- Farm data you enter (crops, plots, sowing dates, notes).
- Images you upload for AI disease detection.
- Approximate location for weather and irrigation guidance.
- Device and usage data via analytics providers.
- Voice recordings when you use the voice assistant.
2. How we use it
- To run AI models for disease detection, harvest and irrigation predictions.
- To personalise weather, fertilizer and crop-stage recommendations.
- To improve model accuracy (only on anonymised, aggregated data).
- To send push notifications about weather, pests and reminders.
- To provide customer support.
3. Services we rely on
- Google Play services and Firebase (analytics, crash reporting, push).
- Weather APIs for hyperlocal forecasts.
- AI APIs (currently Groq) for online language understanding and explanations.
- Cloud storage for image and account data.
4. Third-party AI provider — Groq
When you use the online AI explanation feature, your questions and related farming context are processed by a third-party AI provider.
- Current provider: Groq.
- What is shared: your question text, crop name, disease or diagnosis result, image-derived metadata, and any notes you include with the request.
- Purpose: to generate clear, relevant explanations of AI recommendations in your language.
- Offline mode: when you are offline, the app uses on-device AI models and does not send this data to Groq.
- We do not intentionally share your name, phone number, email, Aadhaar, financial details, or health records with Groq.
- Groq's own privacy practices apply to the data they process; please review Groq's privacy policy for details.
Please do not enter highly sensitive personal information (e.g., Aadhaar, financial details, health records) into chat or notes.
5. Permissions we request
- Camera — to scan leaves and crops.
- Location — to fetch weather for your field.
- Storage — to save and upload scanned images.
- Microphone — for the voice assistant.
- Notifications — for pest, weather and irrigation alerts.
6. Data retention & deletion
You can delete your account, farm history, uploaded images and AI conversations at any time from the app or the Data Deletion page. Deleted data is removed from our active systems within 30 days.
7. Children
Khet Sathi is intended for users aged 16 and above. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 16.
